Method
 

  1. In a medium saucepan, add water, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon stick, cloves, and black pepper.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce to a simmer for 15 minutes with the lid slightly ajar.
  3. Remove from heat and let steep covered for another 5 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea into a teapot or serving container using a fine mesh strainer.
  5. Allow to cool slightly, then add lemon juice and honey. Stir well.
  6. Serve warm. Optional: garnish with fresh mint leaves.
