- Make basil syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water, sugar, and fresh basil leaves. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2β3 minutes. Remove from heat, let steep for 10 minutes, then strain and cool.
- In a pitcher, combine lime juice, basil syrup, and cold water (still or sparkling). Stir well to combine.
- Fill glasses with ice, pour in limeade, and garnish with lime slices and basil leaves.
- Optionally, refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving for deeper flavor infusion.

Notes
