Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon chopped
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 can 16 oz baked beans
  • 1 can 15 oz kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can 15 oz butter beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet – for browning meat and bacon
  • 1 Wooden Spoon – for stirring ingredients evenly
  • 1 Large Baking Dish – for oven baking the beans
  • 1 Measuring Cups and Spoons – for accurate ingredient portions

Method

  1. Cook the Bacon – In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving drippings in the pan.
  2. Brown the Beef – Add ground beef and chopped onion to the skillet. Cook until beef is browned and onions are softened, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Combine Ingredients – In a large baking dish, combine the cooked bacon, beef mixture, baked beans, kidney beans, butter beans, ketchup, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, mustard, and apple cider vinegar. Stir well.
  4. Bake the Beans – Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until bubbly and heated through.
  5. Serve – Remove from oven, allow to cool slightly, then serve hot as a side dish or main meal.
